Many of our customers, before buying a lift, wonder which type of power supply will be better. In the electric mobile platforms available in our offer we have two solutions. One is the use of acid battery, which is most commonly found in passenger cars, while the other solution increasingly popular in the global market is the use of a lithium-ion battery.
The lifts we offer for sale and rental use, among other things, a lithium battery. This type of power supply is used in both scissor and telescopic mobile platforms. It is a solution that is heavily relied upon by the manufacturer - the Zoomlion brand - of which we are the exclusive dealer for mobile platforms in Poland.
Before buying a power lift, however, it is important to remember that each choice carries a number of benefits. It's hard to say unequivocally that any type of power supply will be better or worse, since the two solutions are quite significantly different from each other. We will present the advantages of both types of batteries to make the purchase of an elevator easier.
Acid battery - advantages
A huge advantage when choosing "acid" is that you will find it in many motor vehicles. Starting from cars to trucks. It is a very common and frequent power supply. If an old battery needs to be replaced, the user does not have to worry about availability. "Acid" can be found in almost any automotive store, and also the price does not exceed the budget of a person who uses a mechanical device on a daily basis.
"Acid" is a universal power supply and has a high starting current. This battery provides high power to start a machine or vehicle even in sub-zero temperatures. The user will find this type of battery in Zoomlion electric and diesel-powered lift trucks. The lifespan of this battery is usually several years.
Lithium-ion battery - advantages
So-called "lithium" batteries have been strongly gaining popularity in recent years. The battery is increasingly used in industry and the automotive industry as the main power source. Such power supply is found in both scissor and telescopic mobile platforms. One manufacturer that uses this type of solution in its vehicles is the Zoomlion brand. The lithium battery can be found in, among others. electric mobile platforms.
The main advantage of lithium batteries is that they can be charged at will, regardless of the degree of discharge. Intermittent charging does not cause excessive wear and tear on the battery, which is a significant difference from the use of acid batteries. Lithium batteries are also lighter compared to their acid counterparts, and are characterized by the fact that the time for a full charge is shorter. Importantly, using a "lithium" battery, the user does not have to worry about battery leaks.
The service life of lithium batteries, using Zoomlion mobile platforms as an example, is about 10 years, or roughly 4,000 charges. Compared to acid batteries, the usability doubles. Deciding on a lithium-ion battery in a lift offered by BAC Poland, the customer will receive a five-year warranty on the battery.
What kind of elevator to choose? - summary
BAC Polska's extensive range of electric platforms gives the customer the right to choose. Undoubtedly, acid battery power and lithium-ion battery power are quite significantly different, but each solution has its advantages. A user deciding to buy an electric-powered lift should consider how often he or she will use the lift and estimate the possibility of cyclic battery charging.
